Rental Car Insurance Scams
rented car from avis got scratched and dent on the fender.whats best to do?
I rented it for 1 month then I got it scratch backing up on my garage when the rear wheel fell on unlevel surface hitting right side fender on a pavement. I still got the car right now. The scratch is like 12 in long with a dent on it. What is the best thing to do? Am I allowed to let it be fixed on a body shop before returning it so that I could avoid overcharged scams from rental companies..I didn’t get the optional collision or damage Insurance. I got a car insurance for my new truck a month old only.and it got 1000$ deductible…I don’t want to use my insurance because it would ley my premiun go off. I rented this car in new york area..
Any idea or insight on the best thing I could do? Anything is appreciated. Tnx

Go to a cheapo body shop. Sure you are allowed to do whatever to the car, without them knowing. If you go to the rental place with the car like that they will raise hell, charge you alot and never actually repair the car. So basically find a cheapo body shop or lease return place and see what they tell you.
